Crowns is a logic puzzle played on a square grid divided into colored regions. Your goal is to place crowns so that every row, every column, and every color region contains exactly one crown. The same puzzle type is known as Star Battle and as a Queens-style puzzle — the rules below apply to all of them.

Every Crowns puzzle has exactly one solution, and it can always be reached by pure logic — you never have to guess.
Tap an empty cell to place a crown. Mark cells you've ruled out with an X so you can see what's left. Use Undo to step back, and a Hint if you get stuck.
Crowns also ships a true Star Battle variant, where each row, column, and region holds two stars instead of one — same no-touching rule, a much bigger deduction space. If you already solve Star Battle puzzles elsewhere, the 2★ boards will feel immediately familiar.
Place the required number of stars in every row, every column, and every outlined region, so that no two stars touch — including diagonally. One-star boards are often called Queens or Crowns; two-star boards are classic Star Battle.
It is the same rule set. Crowns places one crown per row, column, and colored region with no two touching, exactly as a Queens-style puzzle does, and adds a daily puzzle, streaks, stars, and a two-star Star Battle mode.
No. Every Crowns puzzle has exactly one solution reachable by pure deduction. If you feel stuck, there is always a forced move somewhere on the board.
A placed crown blocks all eight surrounding cells — up, down, left, right, and the four diagonals. This is the rule new players miss most often.
Close cousins. Like Sudoku, every row and column gets exactly one of the symbol — but Crowns swaps the 3×3 boxes for irregular colored regions and adds the no-touching rule, so the deductions feel different. If you like Sudoku you will pick it up in one puzzle.
